Guess who’s got a new obsession? Yep, this gal! The other day I spent an obscene amount of time looking up unique ceramics, when I came across Ben Medansky’s work. I was especially drawn to the quirky styling of these products, I think that is what I love most.

Excuse me while I do a quick google search for ceramics classes in Chicago…

Happy Friday!

Mapoesie’s SS13 collection has got me all giddy inside! Laying in the grass with my head on one of those scarves, sign me up!

Ah, scarves, who doesn’t love scarves? What a great way to spice up an outfit and hide a less-than-stellar hair day. Also, as Benta studio proves, scarves make for real fun photo props in an adorable lookbook. I’m kinda bummed this website isn’t in English so I can figure out how to get my hands on one of these beauties.

I’m not going to lie to you, creatively, I’ve been sort of absent. I’ve hit a point where I feel like everything that could be done has been done by someone else, and done better than I could ever imagine. Don’t misunderstand me, this isn’t a “woe is me, I’m comparing myself to everyone” thing, it’s just, for lack of a better term, a creative block.

So, lately, I’ve been trying to find inspiration in new places, I’m so used to my same sources and they’re great, but they’re not pushing me to do or make or write interesting things. In my hunt for more offbeat inspiration, I stumbled upon the work of AQQ Design and thought, this is the sort of simple yet unique kind of inspiration I need right now, it’s definitely a good start.

Where do you turn when you hit a creative block? I’d love to know. not to mention you’d be helping a sister out.

I almost titled this post big ass knitting needles but decided not to, then I decided to stay true to myself and mention it in the body of the post instead.

Seriously though, I really want me a pair of humongous needles so I can make some awesome big rugs and finally have a reason to use super bulky yarn like this:

Also, if I could steal that outfit from the cutie above, that would be great as well.

Happy Friday, friends.

Today, I am fantasizing about a life working in a big open studio with beautiful lighting, wearing these linen beauties from south street linen and making something with my hands. How dreamy is that scenario? Seeing as I don’t currently have a job requiring a big open studio with beautiful lighting, I’ll settle for the clothes.

Every so often, I covet other careers, I think to myself, “If I could do it over again..” or “In my next life I will be…” These careers have included illustrator, textile designer and the new one is photo stylist. Can you imagine how fun and rewarding a career in photo styling would be? Til that next life that I’m counting on, I will live vicariously through photos like these.

Happy Monday!

Add this to my list of projects I’d love to take on some day: amazing, gigantic knit rugs. Way to get ahead of yourself, Dennise… says everyone, all the time.

I am obsessed with this interface design created by Emily Tu for the Robert Burns Museum in Scotland. I am really taken by those illustrations, so freakin’ cute!
