YBJB-Djarum Foundation recently introduced the beautiful art of West Java batik through an event called “Tutur Batik”. This initiative aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the region and promote the traditional art of batik making.
Batik is a traditional Indonesian textile art that involves using wax to create intricate patterns and designs on fabric. It is a highly skilled and time-consuming process that has been passed down through generations in West Java. The patterns and motifs used in West Java batik are inspired by nature, mythology, and local customs, making each piece unique and telling a story of its own.
The “Tutur Batik” event featured a variety of batik displays, workshops, and demonstrations to educate the public about the art of batik making. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the history of batik, watch skilled artisans at work, and even try their hand at creating their own batik designs.
Through “Tutur Batik”, YBJB-Djarum Foundation aims to preserve and promote the traditional art of West Java batik, as well as provide a platform for local artisans to showcase their talents and skills. By raising awareness about the beauty and significance of batik, the foundation hopes to inspire a new generation of artisans to continue the legacy of this ancient art form.
The event was met with great enthusiasm and appreciation from the public, who were fascinated by the intricate designs and vibrant colors of the batik textiles on display. Many visitors expressed their admiration for the skill and craftsmanship of the artisans, as well as their newfound appreciation for the art of batik making.
