Mitra Seni Indonesia galang dana bagi perajin batik dan “mbok gendong”
Mitra Seni Indonesia, an organization dedicated to supporting local artisans and preserving traditional Indonesian crafts, has recently launched a fundraising campaign to help batik makers and “mbok gendong” in need.
Batik, a traditional Indonesian cloth that is dyed using a wax-resist technique, is an integral part of Indonesian culture and heritage. However, many batik makers struggle to make a living due to the high cost of materials and competition from cheaper, mass-produced alternatives. Additionally, many “mbok gendong” or traditional baby carriers, are also facing challenges in terms of sustainability and market access.
In response to these challenges, Mitra Seni Indonesia has set up a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to support these artisans. The campaign aims to provide financial assistance to batik makers to help them purchase materials and equipment, as well as to provide training and workshops to help them improve their skills and expand their market reach. The funds raised will also be used to support “mbok gendong” makers, helping them to continue their craft and pass on their skills to future generations.
Mitra Seni Indonesia believes that by supporting these artisans, they are not only preserving Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage but also empowering local communities and promoting sustainable, ethical practices in the craft industry. The organization is calling on supporters and art enthusiasts to donate to the campaign and help make a difference in the lives of these talented artisans.
The campaign has already received positive feedback and support from the community, with many people expressing their appreciation for the work of these artisans and the importance of preserving traditional crafts. With the help of generous donors, Mitra Seni Indonesia hopes to raise enough funds to make a meaningful impact on the lives of these artisans and ensure that their crafts continue to thrive for generations to come.
