Do you ever have one of those weeks when your emotions are all over the place and you have no idea why? Take Sunday night, after watching an episode of Six Feet Under, my husband announces that he’s gotta go to bed (he has to wake up at an ungodly hour for work) and immediately, I burst into tears. I still don’t know what got into me, the best way to describe it is that feeling you got as a kid when you realized the holidays were over, going back to school was near and you were filled with sadness because you knew all the fun was over. Luckily, my husband is very understanding and did not mock my irrational tears. The rest of my week was pretty much the same, inexplicable sadness and melancholy, I feel guilty admitting this as I have no reason to be sad, I have a great life and absolutely nothing to complain about, but I’ve learned that you have to embrace and face your feelings no matter how irrational they may seem because each and every one is valid to you.
All this to say, sometimes a girl’s gotta wipe her eyes and say, hey, stop feeling sorry for yourself because you rock and some people even acknowledge that fact, so here are some lovely links that made me feel oh so much better:
1. The lovely folks from Dabble interviewed yours truly for their blog, read it here. Thanks again Dabble!
2. Have you been keeping up with HTML Lessons over on Bre’s blog? We alternate every other week and I’ve gotta say I’ve really enjoyed preparing those posts and collaborating with the super talented Bre.
3. I’m sure you’ve seen this video by now, if you haven’t, you really must, I’ve never seen anyone face bullying with such class and conviction. Surprise, surprise, I bawled my eyes out and watched it about 10 times in a row.
4. And finally, I’m loving this blog with its stunning photographs, including the one featured above.
Oh, it makes me sad that’s you’ve been feeling a little bit out of sorts. I hope you have a better week – I find filling my work space with fresh flowers always helps to lift my spirits. And hopefully this does too – it blew my mind that you stopped by my blog this morning, I am such a big fan and just so excited that someone all the way on the other side of the world could be in touch :) You made me very, very happy, so thank you for that!
@Thea, you are so sweet! I’m definitely gonna try the flowers trick, they really do a good job of brightening a room and a person up. I love your blog, you’ve got such a great eye for neat stuff. xo
