snowed in

snow-day

Chicago got a whole lot of snow yesterday, it was great, especially since I got to enjoy it from the comfort of my home, as you can see from the photos above, I didn’t even make it past the front porch. Don’t get me wrong, I had a lot of work to catch up on so I was very productive, it just so happened none of it led me past the front door. I’ve already been hearing rumblings of “I can’t wait for spring” and “I’m so done with winter”, but me, I’m perfectly content with this weather.

Here’s the thing, I love winter, I mean I reeeally love wintertime. You know all those talks of the wintertime blues and how to combat them, well, they don’t apply to me because I seem to be most inspired during this season. This is normally the time I’m inspired to stay home and try new recipes, the time I realize I need to get serious about a workout plan (desperately), the time I get serious about learning new skills, you get the picture. This isn’t to say that I’m a lazy, unhappy bum during the spring and summertime, I just really love winter and I thought the world should know.

A few more images from the collaboration between Anni and myself. Anni happens to live in one of the coolest neighborhoods in Chicago, these outdoor shots were taken right by her loft which is by some railroad tracks and some pretty sweet open space.

I am so stoked to introduce the first installment of the personal series, a collaboration between the lovely and talented Anni Glissman of Anni Cee Photographie and myself. Our first series of photographs is centered around a cozy, rustic winter scene. Winter is my absolute favorite season and Anni and I tried to capture the essence and magic of winter in the city.

Isn’t Anni one talented lady? I had such a great time working with her. Stay tuned as I’ll be posting more photos from this series.
